Wilhelmina Storck was born June 11, 1841, in Germany. In 1852, she came with her parents, Carl and Dorothy Marquardt, to America and made their home on a farm near Guttenbeg, Iowa. In 1860 she was married to Gerhardt Storck, also of Guttenberg, where they lived 10 years. From there they came to Madison county. Through hard labor and the blessings of God, they owned one of the nicest farms in Madison county, on which they lived happily together for 51 years. They had the rare occasion of celebrating their 50th anniversary with praise to God.
To their union were born 12 children. Two died in infancy. Her husband and six grand children preceded her in death. Besides her family, she raised four grandchildren. She was blessed with good health until the last two years, but never thought her illness was serious until the last three weeks, during which she was confined to her bed. She was tenderly cared for by her children and grandchildren until the hour of death came, April 6th, 1921, at 2:30 p.m., which found her a true and faithful Christian, prepared to meet her Savior.
She leaves to mourn her departure; four daughters, Mrs. Ida Meyer, Mrs. Amanda Dimler, Luverne, Iowa; Mrs. Henry Vlotho, Ireton, Iowa, Mrs. Witschonke, Hilber, Wis.; also 21 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and two sisters; Mrs. George Storck and Mrs. Wm. Burger and one brother, Herman Marquardt. Her age was 78 years, 9 months and 25 days.
