JEAN EVELYN ZELIADT, Accident Costs Baby's Life

Jean Evelyn Zeliadt, two year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Zeliadt, of Des Moines, died Sunday at the hospital in Des Moines after an unavailing effort had been made to withhold its tiny life from the brink of eternity.

The circumstances of the accident which ended thus tragically, occurring the preceding Tuesday, were related in last week's Echo. The little girl fell into a pan of boiling hot water in the laundry, scalding a considerable portion of her body. She lingered on earth five days before an all-wise Providence whose purpose we cannot always fathom bore her off to that Heaven which must be so much more glorious because it is peopled with the innocent, unspoiled lives of God's precious babies. Jean's loss is the more irrevocable to the heartbroken parents because she was all they had. Her little brother Perry preceded her at the age of three years.

A service was held in the Friends Church at Des Moines Tuesday, Rev. Nelson assisting the pastor, and the body was brought to Earlham for burial.

Jean Evelyn Zeliadt, daughter of Ernest and Minnie Zeliadt, as born in Des Moines Feb 7, 1921 and died Nov. 25, 1923.

Note: Burial in Earlham cemetery. Transcribed as published, last name per gravestone is "Zelliot".
