Obituary

Died at the residence of her son in Scott township, January 1, 1901, Mrs. Susan Welch, aged 84 years and 8 months. She was born and married in the state of Maryland. Her husband died seven years ago. She was the mother of seven children and the four survivors reside in Madison county. The family have lived in Iowa for forty-three years. When quite young she united with the Baptist church and has ever been a faithful member and a consistent Christian

The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Follansbee at Zion church on Tuesday afternoon and followed by a large procession of friends and relatives. Her remains were laid to rest in the Peru cemetery.

The family moved to Iowa forty three years ago and her husband died in 1894. Four of her six children survive her and all reside in Madison county. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Follansbee at Zion church on Tuesday afternoon, and accompanied by a large procession of friends. Her remains were buried in the Peru cemetery.

Death of Susan Welch

Died, at the residence of her son in Scott township on Jan. 21, 1901, Mrs. Susan Welch, aged 84 years and eight months. She was born, united with the Baptist church and married in the state of Maryland. Forty-three years ago the family moved to Iowa. In 1894 her husband died. Her funeral sermon was preached by Rev. Follansbee at Zion church on Tuesday afternoon, and followed by a large procession of friends. She was buried in the Peru cemetery. She was the mother of six children. The four survivors reside in Madison county.
