Death Occurred on Tuesday at Memorial Hospital in Winterset
Harold S. Waters, a resident of the Winterset community for the last 14 years, died this Tuesday, Oct. 18, at Memorial Hospital here. He was 58 years of age.
Mr. Waters was employed as a grounds maintenance man for the Iowa State Fair board. He formerly worked at the Winterset Light and Power plant also.
Mr. Waters was born in Adams county, Feb. 8, 1908, a son of Leo F. and Ellen Moore Waters. He was married in Reno, Iowa on Oct. 12, 1929 to Francis Bailiff who survives him.
He was a member of the St. Joseph's Catholic church in Winterset.
In additiion to his wife, he leaves five children; Mrs. Bill Cullen of Denison, Iowa, Leo D. Waters of Des Moines, Larry P. Waters of Iowa City, Thomas Waters of Des Moines and Charles P. Waters of Iowa City. He leaves 17 grandchildren; three brothers, Robert Waters of Massena, Noel Waters of Atlantic and Lewis Waters of Denver, Colorado; and five sisters, Mrs. Joe Moore of Corning, Mrs. Earl Clinton of Massena, Mrs. Mary Cullin, Mrs. Charles Mullen of Bridgewater and Mrs. Seymour Schaffer of Corning.
Rosary services are to be held this Wednesday at 8:15 p.m. from Wilson Funeral home here with funeral services this Thursday at 10 a.m. from St. Joseph's Catholic church, conducted by the pastor, Msgr. John W. Higgins. Burial will be made in the Winterset Cemetery.
