WALTER J. SHUTT DIES AT 72 YEARS

Walter J. Shutt, of Prole, Iowa, long-time resident of Madison and Warren counties, died Sunday, April 30, at a Des Moines hospital. He was 72 years of age.

Mr. Shutt was born in Warren county Dec. 6, 1894, a son of Jefferson and Isabelle Williamson Shutt. His life was spent in farming and he had been retired in recent years.

He was a member of the Martensdale Community Church and the St. Charles V.F.W post.

He was married Dec. 12, 1923 to Joanna Daniel, who survives him. He also leaves a daughter, Mrs. Leonard Jacobs of St. Charles; a son, Donald Shutt of Perry; nine grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. May Myers of Truro.

Funeral services were held last Wednesday from the Martensdale Community church, conducted by the Rev. Merwin Strahan. Burial was made in the St. Charles cemetery.
