Word has been received here of the death of Rev. E. H. Sands of Des Moines on last Tuesday, June 18th. Mr. Sands had been in poor health for some time, and underwent an operation in a Des Moines hospital on Tuesday.
Mr. Sands is well known among people in this county having been pastor of the Methodist church in Peru for four years and in Macksburg for a year and a half. They also lived in Lorimor for several years. A son, Thoburn Sands, was a lifeguard at the local swimming pool the summer before last.
Funeral services were held Saturday.

Word was received of the death of Rev. E. H. Sands, which occurred at the Veterans hospital in Des Moines.
Rev. Sand was pastor here for three years, going to Lorimor in 1933, where he served as pastor until going to Des Moines a few months ago, where he held a position in the Veterans hospital. He was a veteran of both the Spanish-American and World wars.
His widow, two daughters, Mrs. Claude Brown of Oregon, and Mrs. Thomas Robinson of Des Moines, and one son, Thoburn Sands of Ft. Madison, survive.
Funeral services were held Saturday morning.
