Death of Mrs. Kate Louk

Mrs. Kate Louk who has been living with her daughter, Mrs. Mildred Allgeyer for the past seven years, died here, last Wednesday, November 20th, at the age of 76 years. Mrs. Louk was born in Port Elgin, Ontario, on April 27, 1859, but moved to Jefferson, Iowa, in 1879 where she made her home until seven years ago.

While living in Jefferson Mrs. Louk was active in club and social work, being a charter member of the Womans club. She was a member of the M. E. church always teaching in the Sunday school. For the past three years, she has been in poor health, and has been confined to her bed the past year.

Surviving Mrs. Louk are two children: Mrs. Mildred Allgeyer and a son, W. A. Colby. A daughter, Mrs. Florence Cliff, preceded her in death, December 27, 1934. She also leaves three sisters, four step children, and nineteen grandchildren.

Burial was from the Slininger funeral home in Jefferson. The Rev. A. R. Weed, former pastor of the West Star church conducted the service.
