Funeral services for Adolph (Jim) Benoit, 70, of Winterset were held at 10 a.m. Monday, January 29, at Collins Funeral Home. Burial was in the Winterset Cemetery with Pastor Robert Toso officiating. Mr. Benoit died January 25 at Veteran’s Hospital in Des Moines.
Born December 19, 1908 at Gilmore City, Mr. Benoit was the son of John and Alice Loehr Benoit. He moved to Winterset in 1931 and was a farmer here until his retirement in 1969. Mr. Benoit, a Catholic, was a World War II army veteran.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and three brothers. He is survived by a brother Leo Benoit of Winterset, a sister, Marie Bay of Dixon, Illinois, four nieces and four nephews.
