Mrs. Elmer Chance

Services for Mrs. Elmer F. Chance, 68, of 2420 Merle Hay Road, were held Tuesday, October 14 at the Westover Funeral Home in Des Moines. Burial was at the Stuart cemetery in Stuart.

Mrs. Chance, the mother of Mrs. John Clague of Earlham, died of cancer Saturday at Iowa Methodist hospital after a long illness. Born in Lovilia, she lived in Stuart and Earlham, before moving to Des Moines 29 years ago. She was a member of First Federated church.

Surviving are her husband; two sons, Robert B. of Des Moines, and David E. of Omaha; a daughter, Mrs. John Clague of Earlham; two brothers, Ward Thompson of Newton and the Rev. Ray Thompson of Aredale, six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Mr. and Mrs. Chance lived in Earlham from 1939 to 1941. Mr. Chance was employed by Hunter Motor Co.
