Roy Gerald Goering, 80, of Brainerd, Minn., and formerly of Truro, died Sept. 5, 2004 at the Cuyuna Regional Care Center in Crosby, Minn.

A prayer service was held today (Wednesday) at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola. Burial was at New Virginia Cemetery.

Roy was born June 28, 1924 in Marion County to George and Gladys (Lovell) Goering. He is survived by his wife, Neola, of Brainerd, Minn.; four sons, Gerald Goering and Charles Goering, both of Brainerd, Ron Goering of St. Charles and Dan Goering of Truro; one daughter Karen Armour of Des Moines; four brothers, Ivan Goering of Chariton, Kenneth Goering of Newton, Donald Goering of Blue Grass, and Franklin Goering of Leon; two sisters, Frances Krutsinger of Chariton and Katherine Kimzey of New Virginia; and 29 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
