CLARENCE W. ARCHER RITES HELD AT WICK

Funeral services were held Oct. 14 from Wick Methodist church for Clarence W. Archer, retired Warren county farmer, whose death occurred Friday, Oct. 11, at his home in St. Charles.

Mr. Archer was 65 years of age. He had lived in St. Charles the past 7 years.

The son of Joseph and Christine Hamm Archer, he was born Jan. 3, 1892, in Warren county. His active life was spent in farming. He was a veteran of World War I and was a member of the St. Charles V.F.W post serving as post commander and chaplain.

He was married June 28, 1919 to Marie Louise Wise at Wick. They were parents of eight children, one son and one daughter preceding the father in death.

He leaves six children, Lester C. Archer of St. Charles, Mrs. Hulda Murray of Madrid, Mrs. Dora Burton of Inglewood, Calif., Joseph C. Archer of Perry, Mrs. Ruth Parker of Des Moines and Philip V. Archer of Des Moines. He also leaves nine grandchildren; two brothers, Victor M. Archer of St. Charles and Ralph Archer of Martensdale; and three sisters, Mrs. Scott Wise of Martensdale, Mrs. Helene Switzer of Lakewood, Fla., and Mrs. Carl Bates of Guthrie Center.

The Rev. Vernon W. Faase of Martensdale officiated at the funeral services. Burial was made in the Wick cemetery.
