Life-Long Resident of County Was 83 Years of Age At Death
Clarence W. Beem, life-long resident of Madison county and member of a pioneer family in this county, died Thursday, December 1 at Memorial Hospital in Winterset. He was 83 years of age.
Mr. Beem was born near Winterset April 28, 1888, a son of Lemuel and Laura Rose Beem. His active life was spent in farming. He also served as substitute rural carrier at the Winterset post office for a long period of years.
He was married February 23, 1910 in Adair county to Iva Weaver who survives him. He also leaves three sons, Elzia C. Beem and Eldon Beem of Winterset and Elwood Beem of Beatrice, Nebraska; a daughter, Mrs. Agatha Agan of Winterset; 12 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Lulu Estell of Winterset.
Funeral services were held Saturday at 2 p.m. from the Wilson Funeral Home in charge of Rev. William Bowles, pastor of First Christian Church of Winterset. Burial was made in Winterset cemetery.
