Page 2A Prominent Citizen Gone.
Mr. C. C. Krabiel, the well-known Winterset merchant, died, Saturday, April 22, at his home in this city, after a lingering illness. For years he suffered with a distressing, spasmodic cough, and heart trouble and consumption followed. For the past year or two his decline was rapid. During all his long sickness he kept bravely at his work, never relinquishing his grasp till compelled by sheer exhaustion to do so.
Mr. Krabiel leaves a wife, two daughters and one son. His oldest daughter was married only a few weeks ago. Mr. Krabiel and family were active members of the Methodist Episcopal church. The funeral services were held in that church Tuesday forenoon, April 25.
The death of Mr. Krabiel removes from our midst one of the most energetic, upright and reliable business men, from his family a kind husband and father, and from the church one of its most useful and active workers. The sympathy of a host of friends and neighbors will go out to the family in their sad affliction.
Note: Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
