Hiram Colton, of this place, aged 73 years, died on Saturday of dropsy. He was a hard worker, faithful, upright and honest. No one could say aught against his character. He leaves a wife, one son and seven daughters, all of whom except two married daughters reside in St. Charles. His health had been failing for some time, and for about two months he was an intense sufferer. He was buried in the St. Charles cemetery on Sunday afternoon.
