Obituary

Died September 25, of general debility caused by old age, Mrs. May A. Moak, nee Cox, aged 76 years and two weeks. The deceased was born in Mercer county, Pennsylvania, where, when 20 years of age she was married to Mr. William S. Moak. They moved to Adair county, Missouri, in 1863, where, three years later she suffered bereavement by the death of her husband. She moved to Iowa in 1872.

She leaves four children, two sons and two daughters.

She embraced religion about twenty years ago, adopting the opinions held by the Seventh day Adventists, being firmly grounded in this faith. She was a firm believer in the word of God, and showed her religion in her life, rather than by profession. She was kind in disposition, always preferring the comfort of others before her own. Like an infant falling asleep, she died without a sigh or a struggle.

The funeral was held in the home.
