WANDA COX, ARKANSAS

Wanda J. Cox, 71, of Gentry, Ark., died Jan. 12, 2008, at Northwest Medical Center of Benton County.

Services will be held at a later date in Winterset. Local arrangements are under the direction of Bella Vista Funeral Home & Crematory in Bella Vista, Ark. Online condolences may be made at funeralmation.com.

Wanda Cox was born July 31, 1936, in Winterset to Frank M. and Iris Pauline (Hendricks) Davis. Wanda retired from GTE/Verizon following 20 years of service. She also was a camp host at Natural Falls State Park in West Siloam Springs, Okla., for two years.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Donald Keith Davis.

She is survived by her husband, Loren F. Cox of Gentry, Ark.; two sons, Tom Flynn of Gentry, Ark., and Tim Flynn of Otoe, Neb.; one daughter, Teresa Bennett of Elko, Nev.; and seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Wanda J. Flynn Cox, 71, of Gentry, Ark., died Jan. 12, 2008, at Northwest Medical Center in Benton County, Ark.

A visitation will be held from 5–8 p.m. Friday, March 28, at Ochiltree Funeral Service & Aftercare in Winterset. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 29, at North McDonald Cemetery, Jefferson Township, Madison County. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the North McDonald Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent to the family at ochiltree.com.

Wanda Cox was born July 31,1936, in Winterset to Frank M. and Iris Pauline (Hendricks) Davis. She married Howard P. Flynn on June 1, 1953, at St. Brendan’s Catholic Church in Leon. Wanda later married Loren Cox on May 4, 1967, in Omaha, Neb.

She was employed at General Telephone Electronics/Verizon Wireless in Grinnell for 20 years. She and Loren moved from Iowa following her retirement and together they lived in Bella Vista and Gentry, Ark. For the past two years, Wanda was a camp host at Natural Falls State Park in West Siloam Springs, Okla.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Donald Keith Davis.

She is survived by her husband, Loren, of Gentry, Ark.; her children, Teresa Bennett of Elko, Nev., Timothy Flynn of Otoe, Neb., and Thomas Flynn of Gentry, Ark.; two stepdaughters, Kathy Mook of Osceola and Terri Goodrich of Arvada, Colo.; and seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
