Mrs. Milton Newell, living seven miles southwest of town, died on Thursday, of last week of consumption. The funeral was held on Saturday. She was 23 years of age, and had been married about a year and a half.

Note: Nancy Long Newell was the wife of Newton Newell.

Obituary

Died, on the 11th inst., Mrs. Nannie Newell, wife of Newton Newell, in the 23d year of her age. Nannie Long was born in Gailia county, Ohio, December 27, 1869, and was married to Newton Newell November, 1890. She embraced Christianity and united with the Church of Christ January, 1890, and died with baptized faith in her Redeemer. She had been sick since last fall with that fatal disease, consumption. The funeral services were conducted by the writer on Friday afternoon, August 12, at the home of Mr. Newell’s mother, six miles south of Winterset, where a very large crowd of her relatives and friends assembled to pay their last tribute to one they had all learned to love. Her body was laid to rest in the Winterset cemetery to await the glad summons of the resurrection morn. M.
