Mrs. Mary Maxine Duff

Mary Maxine, daughter of Vern B. and Edith Bates, was born May 27, 1921 near Macksburg, Iowa and passed away November 23, 1961 at Adair County Memorial hospital in Greenfield at the age of 40 years, 8 months and 26 days.

On May 27, 1939 she was married to James Duff at Winterset, Iowa.

To this union was born 3 children, a son James who resides at Joice, Iowa, 2 daughters, Ruby and Helen at home. They with her husband James Duff survive.

She also leaves to mourn her loss a daughter-in-law Karen and three granddaughters, Ronda, Debra and Kay Ann, her mother, Mrs. Edith Dickey of Belle Plaine, Iowa, her father, Vern Bates of Macksburg, one brother and four sisters, Karl Bates and Mrs. Mrs. Jesse Leeper of Greenfield, Mrs. Earl Pettit of Menlo, Mrs. Bruce Brooker and Mrs. James Brewer of Des Moines.
