T. R. Hawkins

Truman R. Hawkins died at his home just southwest of this city last Saturday evening after a long and painful illness which originated from a stroke of paralysis which he suffered last fall. The burial took place at the Orient cemetery, the services being under the charge of the I.O.O.F. and the Daughters of Rebecca.

The deceased was born in Middlebury, Vermont, November 16, 1840 and four years later moved with his parents to Racine county, Wisconsin, where they stayed a year and then moved to Fond du Lac. Here he married in 1869 to Miss Lela H. Turner and they remained there until --- when they moved to Winterset, Iowa, coming to Harrisonville in ----. He was a faithful and true member of the I.O.O.F. for about 40 years and was a highly respected citizen of this community, standing well and being loved by all who knew him. Our sympathy is extended the dearest ones in their affliction. Cass Co. Mo. ---.

Transcirbers note: Orient Cemetery is in Orient, Adair County, Iowa.
