The Old Pass Away

William B. Cameron died on Feb. 24, 1892, aged near seventy-five years. He came from Ohio to Madison county, Iowa, in 1853. He was exemplary in his attendance upon, and support of the ordinances of public worship, and the business meetings of the congregation to which he belonged. His life was also characterized for obedience to the injunctions to study to be quiet, to do your own business to work with your own hands, and to walk honestly towards them that are without, and he realized the fullfillment of the accompanying promise to have need of nothing. By close attention to the business of his farm, the small means with which he commenced housekeeping gradually increased until his worldly circumstances were perhaps as good as the best in the community. He was careful to owe no man any thing, and promptly met his obligations to both church and state. When the matter of contributing to the general work of the church was neglected in the congregation, as it sometimes was when without a pastor, he has repeatedly forwarded by me, for himself and each communicant in his family, the amount asked by the general assembly.

Note: Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
