Notices elsewhere in this paper speak of the death of Mrs. Samuel Haymond of Webster township. An attendant at the funeral tells us that he counted one hundred and one vehicles, which contained at least five hundred people besides a large number of close neighbors who went on foot. This speaks much of the esteem in which she was held.

The death of Mrs. Mellie Haymond was a shock to the community. She had been sick for a long time, but her family thought the crisis had passed and she was improving. She was the second daughter of Robert Farquhar, the oldest having died several years ago. Now there are only one brother and one sister left. The funeral, held at the Congregational church, was attended by the largest number of people ever gathered around here. Not one half could get into the church. The warmest sympathy is felt and expressed for the bereaved husband and four little children.
________________________Transcriber's note: Transcribed as published, the correct spelling of the deceased's maiden name is "Farquhar".
