William Crosby, who has for some three years resided with his family a mile south of Hanley, died at his home on Friday morning after an immediate illness of but a few hours. He was an intelligent gentleman of about fifty-four years of age and for some time a victim of, and very extreme sufferer from asthma, and his appearance indicated apoplexy which with dropsy is said to have caused his sudden death. The bereaved are his wife and a number of children mostly grown.

Funeral occurred on Saturday forenoon, services conducted by Rev. Barick in the Hanley M. E. church and burial in the St. Charles cemetery.
