Cassiday is bereft by the loss of Mr. Cassiday's youngest son, John, who died on Thursday evening after a week of intense suffering from pneumonia. Funeral services were held on Saturday afternoon and the remains interred by the side of his mother in Winterset cemetery.

Little John Cassiday, who, as noted in last week’s REPORTER, was hurt in playing so severely as to cause an internal hemorrhage, died Thursday night and was buried Saturday. He lived just one week after receiving the injury. John was a bright boy of six years and was much beloved by his parents and companions.

John Cassiday, a six year old son of W. W. Cassiday, died Thursday evening of last week after a week's intense suffering from bowel complaint. The physicians were unable to determine the exact cause of death.
The funeral was held Saturday.
