Obituary

The funeral of Mrs. George Coon was held from the home Monday at 2 p.m., April 10th, conducted by J. H. Swift, pastor of the Church of Christ, assisted by Rev. E. E. Bennett of the Christian church. A very large company of friends and relatives gathered to pay the last loving tribute of respect to one who they loved. The sermon was delivered from the text selected by the deceased, John 14:2.

Mrs. Laura Farlow was born in Butler county, Iowa, April 28, 1856, died April 7, 1905. She was united in marriage to George Coon in January 1875. To this union were born three children who with their father are left to mourn her loss. Three children, one grandchild, three sisters and four brothers survive her. Mrs. Coon became a member of the Church of Christ in 1887, and held such relation until death. While we miss mother, wife, sister and friend we can only wait to join her in the home beyond.

Local Tips

Mrs. George Coon, who had been very seriously ill for some months past, died at her home in the southwest part of town Saturday morning and was buried Monday afternoon. She had suffered greatly for a considerable time and although her death was a shock to her family and friends who mourn her loss, she herself welcomed the end as it brought her relief from pain.
