Page 1Fred Kukuk Dead
Word was received Monday of the death at his new home in Oklahoma of Mr. Fred Kukuk, one of the long time residents and substantial farmers of the south part of Madison county. Mr. Kukuk was one of the early settlers of Monroe township. He was industrious and enterprising farmer and stock raiser, and acquired considerable property. The most of this he lost through the indorsement of paper, and in his old age was left practically bankrupt. He removed about a year ago to the neighborhood of Talmage, and only a few weeks ago went to Oklahoma in the hope that in that new country he might retrieve his fortune, but the struggle was about over and he found rest. He will be kindly remembered by his old neighbors and friends in this county.
