December 4, 1918CHARLES A. YOUNG Dies of Wounds in France
Charles A. Young died on Nov. 6, 1918 of "wounds", was the cable received here Monday by Joseph Young and family of East Buchanan street. This sad news concerned the death of a member of the large quota sent from this county to Camp Pike on July 22, 1918.
Private Young, aside from his overseas card, had been heard from in France about Oct. 1st, when three letters dated Sept. 15, 20 and 23, came from him, which carried little or no definite information as to his duties and location.
Private Young was with Company 4. A.R.D. at Camp Pike. His death at the age of 23, will bring sympathy from this community to the Young family, stricken with grief at this invasion of their home by death.
