James McMichael, an old settler of the county, died on the 13th inst. He was a native of Ireland, a man respected by his endless neighbors and friends. His age at the time of his death was ninety years. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. C. T. McCaughan, of Winterset. The interment was at Patterson cemetery.

Mr. James McMichael who has been ill for some weeks died on Wednesday evening the 13th. He was about 90 years of age. Mr. McMichael was a native of County Antrim, Ireland. He has been a resident of Madison county nearly 30 years.

His manners were conservative, genial and social; honesty and integrity showed forth in all his actions. He was well liked by all his neighbors who now mourn his loss.

His funeral took place on Friday the 15th. His funeral sermon was preached by Rev. McCaughan, of Winterset, and his remains now rest in the Potter burying ground near Patterson.
