Page 5Rev. Follansbee, accompanied by his two daughters, Miss Wheeler and C. J. Houlette, went to Truro yesterday to preach the funeral of Rev. Lamb, of that place, who died at the electric hospital in Waterloo, Iowa Monday night. Rev. Lamb used to be stationed at Earlham, but at the time of his death was pastor of the Christian church at Truro. He was a gentleman of rare merit and goes to a glorious reward for faithful earthly service.

Rev. Calvin Bowles Lamb was born at Hillsdale, Michigan, Nov. 20, 1855, and died at the Electric Hospital in Waterloo, Iowa, June 28, 1898, aged 42 years, 7 months and 8 days.
He was united in marriage to Miss Ella Morris at Earlham, Iowa, 18 years ago. When 21 years of age he united with the United Brethren church and afterwards entered the ministry of that denomination. Five years ago he joined the conference of the Christian church, and last fall became pastor of the Truro and Peru churches.
The sudden death of Rev. Fowler, of Wabash, Indiana, which occurred at the home of Bro. Lamb in Truro last November, seemed to visibly affect him, and he often remarked that it completely unbalanced his nervous system. In March he began to fail and on Easter Sunday occupied the pulpit of the Christian church in Truro for the last time, remarking that he felt a strong desire to talk to his people once more.
Two months ago the churches, the Masonic fraternity of Truro and the Odd Fellows of Peru, furnished the means to send him to Waterloo for treatment. For some time he seemed to improve, but a few days previous to his death he suddenly became worse and passed away at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 28. His remains were brought to Truro and buried with Masonic honors on Wednesday, the Eastern Star Chapter of which he was a member, taking part in the exercises. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. L. E. Follansbee, of Winterset, assisted by Rev. Farley, of New Virginia, and the remains interred in the Young cemetery east of town. He leaves a wife and one son. His mother from Elkhart, Indiana, was present at the funeral. A large congregation was present to pay the last respect to one so universally loved by all.
