Ada E. Banks, 83, of Winterset died Dec. 12, 2007, at her winter residence in Mission, Texas.
Funeral services were held Monday, Dec. 17, at the First United Presbyterian Church in Winterset with the Rev. Jim Howland officiating. Burial was at Winterset Cemetery.
Ada Banks was born Feb. 26, 1924, in Madison County to John and Maud (Givan) Allen and was a 1941 graduate of Winterset High School. On June 24, 1943, she married Joe Banks in Georgetown, S.C. A lifetime resident of Madison County, Ada and her husband Joe were owners and operators of Banks Floral until their retirement in 1983. She was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church, Evening Guild, Hands to God crafting group, American Legion Auxiliary, Colonial Guild, Thursday Guild, Buffalo Gals and Golden Girls.
She was preceded in death by her husband and two sisters, Esther Allen and Eileen Friday.
She is survived by one daughter, Connie Banks of Winterset; one son, Allen Banks of Winterset; and two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Memorial may be directed to the family for future designation.
Funeral arrangements were handled by Collins Oak Park Chapel & Funeral Services in Winterset.
