A former Winterset resident who moved to Hiawatha, Kansas, in 1950, Irene Woods, died Sunday, November 28, 1976, at St. Joseph, Missouri, General Hospital. She was 73 years old.
Mrs. Woods was born March 5, 1903, in New Virginia, Iowa, the daughter of Earnest N. and Bertha Corsbie Allen. Her marriage to Milton Woods took place in Iowa on November 24, 1942. He preceded her in death on January 10, 1963.
Affiliated with the Wesleyan Church in Willis, Kansas, Mrs. Woods is survived by one son, Kenneth Smull of Marion, Indiana, one brother Wayne Allen of Lorimor, and three grandchildren.
Funeral services for Irene Woods were conducted from Meek Mortuary Chapel in Hiawatha, Kansas, Wednesday, December 1, at 10 a.m. with graveside services at 3 p.m. at the St. Charles, Iowa, Cemetery. Rev. Vivian Haun officiated.
