Word has been received here of the death of a former Madison County resident, Mrs. Edith Belle Brown. She was 79.
Mrs. Brown was born near Corning and died at a hospital in Huntington Beach, California last Thursday. Services were held Saturday with burial at Rose Hill Cemetery at Whittier, California.
Mrs. Brown is survived by nine children, Danny Brown, Richard Brown, Homer Brown and Mrs. Helen Hale of the Los Angeles area, Leigh Brown of Branson, Missouri, Mrs. Delores Peterson of Denver, Colorado, Donald and Clarence Brown of Des Moines and Lorraine Lear of Norwalk, 21 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Leigh Brown.
