OBITUARY OF FLOYD W. FISH

Floyd W. Fish, the son of John and Laura German Fish, was born February 16, 1904 in Eagleville, Missouri. He passed away at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines on April 13, 1982.

Floyd grew up in Missouri and attended country school near Eagleville.

He was united in marriage to Gertrude Kinder in Bethany, Missouri in the 1930's they moved to the Rolfe area and were active in farming. Gertrude passed away in 1950.

Several years after Gertrude's death, Floyd moved to Mason City and did construction work. In 1969 he retired and continued to live in Mason City. In December of 1978 he moved to the home of his daughter, Karen Hochstetler, near Winterset, and has made his home there until the time of his death.

During his years in Rolfe he was a member of the St. Paul's Lutheran Church.

Floyd was a lover of the out-of-doors and spent many enjoyable hours during his retirement years hunting and fishing.

Survivors include one son, W. LeRoy Fish of Waukesha, Wisconsin; four daughters, Mrs. Lilly Stattel of Athens, Georgia, Mrs. June Davis of Greenville, South Carolina, Mrs. Dixie Bowman of Algona, Iowa and Mrs. Karen Hochstetler of Winterset, Iowa; 23 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Flossy Tull and Mrs. Vada Kinder, both of Mason City, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one brother and one sister.

Services were held at the Early Chapel Christian Church on April 16, 1982 with the Rev. John Shuler officiating. Mrs. Suzanne Turner, organist accompanied the congregational singing. Casket bearers were Michael Hochstetler, John Bennett, Mark Stattelman, David Koon, Cornelis Barragan, Paul Barragan, Larry Tull and Benny Tull. Interment was at Clinton-Garfield Cemetery in Rolfe, Iowa.
