Billie Dean Huglin, 64, of Truro died Nov. 12, 2007, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. Graveside services were held Friday, Nov. 16, at Young Cemetery with Rick Fitch officiating.
Billie Huglin was born March 5, 1943, in rural Madison County to Dale and Nola (Muselman) Huglin and attended school in Truro, graduating in 1961. On Nov. 11, 1978, he was united in marriage to Carole Ann Hixson. Bill drove a truck with his father for many years, hauling grain and livestock for many farmers in the Truro and St. Charles area. He also owned a corn sheller. He farmed many acres from an early age with his grandfather, father and then by himself. He also was a hog, sheep and cattle farmer. Along with his wife, Bill owned and operated the Peru General Store for several years. He was a member of the Army National Guard for six years and a former member of the Truro Lions Club.
He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant son, David John.
He is survived by his wife, Carole, of Truro; one daughter, Billie Jo DeStefano of Truro; two stepdaughters, Susan Rosander of St. Charles and Cindy Wetzel of Peru; and several stepgrandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren.
Memorials may be directed to the family.
Arrangements were handled by Kale Funeral Homes of Osceola and Truro.
