Mrs. S. A. Ellis, (not Elliott, as published in one of our city papers) of Douglas township, died one week ago last Tuesday morning. She had suffered for the past year with that dreadful disease, consumption, when the Giver of all life called her to that home, where the afflictions of this earth cannot follow.

(Note: Date of death - December 23, 1878; burial in Winterset Cemetery)
