Obituary

Died. December 11, 1899, at his home in Patterson, Charles Farris, age 77 years.

The deceased was born in Breckenridge, Ky., Nov. 23, 1822. In 1831 he went with his parents to Illinois; in 1832 they moved to Missouri. In 1844 he was united in marriage to Miss Lucy Washburn, who died in 1847, and in 1849 he was again united in marriage to Mary J. Devors. The same year they came to this county and located on a farm. About a year ago he became a resident of Patterson. He was a devoted Christian, having professed religion when but 16 years of age.

His aged wife, three sons and four daughters, sixteen grand children and seven great grand children are left to mourn his loss. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Hickey, of Des Moines, Dec 13, at the Christian church.

Patterson

Uncle Charley Farris died at his home in Patterson December 12 age seventy seven years; the funeral services were held at the Christian church the following day, Rev. Hickey conducting the services.
