Resolution of Respect.

Hall of St. Charles Lodge 416 I.O.O.F.

The death of Bro. J. A. Bauer, late of this lodge, who departed this life on the 23d last, at his home in South township, Madison county, Iowa. The committee proceeded at once to perform the duty assigned them, and reported the following which was unanimously adopted by the lodge and made a matter of record.

WHEREAS, The Grand Master of the Universe has seen fit to remove from earth our worthy brother, J. A. Bauer, in the midst of his usefulness and at a time which he might reasonably expect to enjoy life for many years and by his death deprived his companion of a loving husband, his children, a kind father, his neighbors of a true friend and this order of a worthy brother.

John Bowers, of Scott Township, one of the old settlers of the county, died last week. It had been suffering for years from kidney disease. He was a member of A. O. U. W. and was buried by that society. He leaves a wife and 4 children.
