MRS. B. F. BOWLSBY DIES SUDDENLY

The announcement of the death of Mrs. B. F. Bowlsby, which came by telegram Monday morning, was a profound shock to the people of this community, few knowing her illness to be of a serious nature.

She was in poor health last summer and went to Texas about the first of the year to spend the winter with her daughters, Mrs. A. H. Eymann of San Antonio, and Mrs. R. D. Simpson of LaMesa, Texas. Her health did not improve in the southern climate and she started home last week, accompanied by her son in law, Mr. Eymann. She died near Emporia, Kansas, early Sunday morning, and the body was taken to the undertakers at Emporia. Her son, W. C. Krabiel of this place received a telegram Saturday stating that his mother was worse and on the way home. He left by way of Peru, Sunday morning and received the announcement of his mother's death on reaching Kansas City. Mr. Eymann returned home to bring Mrs. Eymann, and the body was brought here, arriving Tuesday morning, by way of Peru. The daughters will arrive this evening and the funeral will be held at the residence on Thursday afternoon at 2:30.

Mrs. Bowlsby belonged to the earlier citizenship of Winterset, and was for many years engaged in business with her husband on the west side.

She was married to C. C. Krabiel in 1869, and came to Winterset ten years later. Mr. Krabiel died in 1893. She was again married in 1898 to B. F. Bowlsby who survives her; also three children, Mrs. Gertrude Eymann and Mrs. Lillian Simpson of Texas, W. C. Krabiel of Winterset, and also one brother, Francis Hildebrand and one sister, Mrs. A. T. Noll of Quincy, Illinois.
