OBITUARY

Died, at his residence in Monroe township, Dec. 31st, 1887, Benjamin F. Kilgore, in the 65th year of his age.

The deceased was born in Campbell county, Kentucky, September 15th, 1823; came to Iowa in 1844 and to Madison county in 1865. He leaves a wife and nine children to mourn the loss of an affectionate husband and father. The deceased was highly respected by his neighbors and beloved by his family. In his death the community loses one of its most useful citizens. He passed away peacefully on the last day of the old year, surrounded by his sorrowing family and friends. "He rests from his labors."

Note: Burial was made in the Hamblin cemetery.
