We just heard last week of the fact of the death of Newton Duff, Holdredge, Phelps county, Neb., but at that time knew no particulars. From the NEBRASKA NUGGET, of Holdredge, we hear that he had been in poor health for some time, and that morphine had been administered by physicians to induce sleep, and that afterwards took a large dose himself and fell into a very heavy sleep, and from the effects of this last dose he died, at least such was the verdict of the coroner's jury. Mr. Duff was born in Guernsey county, Ohio, came to Madison county with his parents when a small boy. A few years ago he emigrated to Nebraska. At the time of his death he was 37 years of age.
