Recent Winterset Resident Strikes Truck Stopped On Highway
Larry J. Bell, 25, of Lorimor was killed early Tuesday morning when the car he was driving struck a truck parked partially in the highway near West Liberty.
Mr. Bell had made his home in Winterset until recently, but had moved his family to Lorimor. He was employed as a welder for Means and company in Chicago.
He was a native of Des Moines, where he was born Sept. 28, 1941, a son of James C. and Inger Berz Bell. He graduated from Lincoln High school in Des Moines and had served four years in the U. S. navy.
Mr. Bell was married April 26, 1964, at St. Paul, Minn., to Verna Emerson of Lorimor. She survives him. He also leaves a daughter, Tammi Kay, aged 21 months; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Bell of Des Moines; and his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Bell of Des Moines and Mrs. Olaf Berz of Ellsworth.
Funeral services will be held this Thursday at 2 p.m. from the Collins Funeral home in Des Moines, conducted by the Rev. E. K. Burham, pastor of the First Methodist church of Winterset.
Burial will be made in the Winterset cemetery.
