Elsewhere in this paper will be found an obituary of Mrs. D. C. Shull, nee Miss Nettie Perkins. The deceased was well known in this county, where she had lived most of the time from early childhood till the time of her marriage. The sympathy of a large circle of friends is with the bereaved husband, parents and family.

OBITUARY

Nettie Merrill Shull, second daughter of E. G. and R. A. Perkins, was born September 13, 1858, in Madison county, Iowa.

She was converted under the labors of Rev. A. Thornbrue, united with the M. E. church on probation Jan. 25, 1875, was received into full membership Sept. 16, 1875.

She was organist and Sunday School teacher at West Star for several years. She was married to Delos C. Shull Oct. 2d, 1883, and removed soon after to her husband's house in Vermillion, Dakota, and united with the first M. E. church of that place and was a member of that church at the time of her death.

She held the position of organist and Sunday School teacher, and last fall was chosen superintendent of the Sunday School of Vermillion M. E. Church.

At the time of her death she was president of the Ladies' Aid and Missionary Societies, and president of Women's Christian Temperance Union of the county in which she lived.

She died at her home in Vermillion June 8, 1887, of puerperal fever, aged 28 years, 8 months and 20 days.

The funeral services were conducted at the residence of her parents at Maple Grove, Madison county, Iowa, Sunday, June 12, 1887, after which the remains were deposited in the beautiful cemetery at Winterset, Iowa.

Sister Shull was a loving daughter, an affectionate wife, a faithful member of the church, and an earnest worker. She "rests from her labors and her works do follow her."

She was highly respected by a large circle of friends as was fully attested by the very large concourse of people attending her funeral.
