Mrs. E. W. Jones, of this place, after a long and severe illness died at her home last Friday night. She had been a great sufferer for the past two years, and for the last year and a half of that time totally blind. Her case is an especially sorrowful one.

She was a lady of the highest character and of the truest type. She had the sympathy of the community in her affliction, perhaps, to a larger extent than has been the case for many a year. She possessed the love of all who knew her, and the hearts of her friends burned with a sympathetic fire for her so sorely afflicted. While a home has been made desolate and a family broken up, there is comfort in the thought that she is beyond the reach of mortal pain and has passed to that world of glory into which sorrow or sickness never enters.

The funeral took place at the residence Sunday afternoon and was very largely attended. Dr. Robertson conducted the services in a very graceful and appropriate manner, after which a large number followed the remains to the cemetery.
