James Rogan, Sr., of Douglas township, died at his home Sunday. The funeral occurred Monday. Mr. Rogan came to Madison county in 1859 and has ever since lived on the same farm where he ----- and has always been esteemed as an upright citizen, a kind husband and father. He leaves a widow and a family of grown children. His children are James, Elizabeth (Mrs. Vaughn), Mary, who died about two or three years ago, Ellen (Mrs. C. F. Allgeyer), and John. All of his children surviving him live in Douglas township.

Note: Burial was made in the Stringtown cemetery.
