OBITUARY

William S. Baldwin was born May 18th, 1886 (this is a typo), in Coshocton Co., Ohio, and died in this city Oct. 1st, 1886. More than thirty years ago he settled at Linn Grove, Warren Co., Iowa. He was a thrifty and prosperous farmer and took great interest in all the public enterprises of his community, especially those of a religious and educational character. For the past six years he has resided in this city. In early life he was converted and united with the Methodist Episcopal Church. So that all the years of his manhood have been spent in the church, to which he was devoutly attached, and, in which he held the office of class leader for more than thirty years. He was a true man in every sense of the word. On the 27th of last January, his wife was summoned from labor to reward, since which, he has been an invalid. He leaves but one member of his family behind. Mrs. Norris, who, while she mourns the departure of a beloved father, has the comfort of knowing that he was respected by all who knew him, and was in every way prepared for the final change.
