John Phillips Dead

Mr. John Phillips died of paralysis last Sunday at his home northeast of Pitzer and the funeral was held Monday being one of the largest funerals in the history of Jackson township. Mr. Phillips was an old settler in that part of the county having lived 48 years on the homestead where he died. He was a widely known and highly respected gentleman. He died at the age of 75 years after a life of usefulness and success. The remains were buried in the cemetery on the Phillips homestead.

John Phillips died at his home Sunday evening and was buried Monday at two o’clock. He had a stroke of paralysis a few weeks ago from which he never recovered.

Note: Buried in the Eppard-Pitzer Cemetery.
