Death of Mrs. Baldwin

Again death has come into our community, and we have to record the death of Mrs. Ursula N. Baldwin, the wife of one of our most honored citizens on the morning of January 27th, in the 58th year of her age. She was the daughter of Martha and Sidney Smith early settlers near Lynn Grove in Warren County, and the sister of Dr. Smith, formerly of Winterset but now residing in Des Moines.

She married W. S. Baldwin in 1851 and in 1854 came to Iowa and settled with her husband near Lynn Grove, where she resided until their removal to Winterset about five years ago.

She was a christian from her childhood and almost a life-long member of the M. E. church.

In the communities where she has lived all who knew her bear testimony to her high character and christian usefulness. For a number of years she has been an invalid and a great sufferer; yet ever keeping a cheerful and patient spirit amid it all. She is most sincerely mourned by the friends of the M. E. Church in Winterset who had learned to love her. The body was taken to Lynn Grove for burial and the funeral services were conducted by her pastor, the Rev. W. D. Bennett.
