Death of Blanche McDill

The following from the Pawnee City, Neb., PRESS, tells of the bereavement of a family well known in Winterset:

On last Sunday evening little Blanche McDill died at the home of her parents in this city at 7 o'clock. She was a bright little girl about nine years of age and had been suffering from that dread disease diptheria, which took her away in five short days. Little Blanche remained conscious till her death and talked freely to her attending physician, Dr. Anderson, about dying. She expressed herself willing to die after she was told she could not recover.

Death, certainly comes sweetly to little children, and especially more so when, they become resigned to their fate. The parents and remainder of the family can reap consolation in the words of our Redeemer who said: "Suffer little children to come unto me and forbid them not for of such is the kingdom of Heaven."

Blanche was a bright little girl, very intelligent for one of her age, was a favorite with all who knew her. Her place will be sadly missed at home and in a large circle of little friends in this city to whom this sad news may come.
