Mr. Z. Doan, of Patterson, dropped suddenly dead in his house on Wednesday of last week. He was quite an old man. He had been in good health for some time and his death was a very sudden shock to his friends.

He was the father-in-law of Mr. Shaver, who was killed by a saw log rolling on him a few days before. Mr. D. was an old settler of Madison county and is buried at Union Chapel South cemetery.
