James Wesley Robinson, son of Emery S. and Mahala Bradshaw Robinson, was born in Madison county, Jan. 11, 1875 and departed this life at his home in Truro, on the morning of Feb. 18, 1920, aged 45 years, 1 month and 7 days.
His mother passed away when he was a small boy. He was united in marriage to Miss Euphemia J. Creger, Dec. 19, 1900 and to this union three children were born: Mary Edith, the wife of Kenneth C. Sidener; and two little boys, who passed away in infancy.
He united with the Christian church at Truro several years ago, and in the Jones tent meetings held here in the summer of 1916, he renewed his vows to God. He became afflicted with diabetes about four years ago, but continued his work until he took the influenza three weeks ago, and seemed to be recovering until a few days before his death, when his heart began to fail him, but his condition was not considered serious, so that his death came as a shock to his faithful wife, daughter and friends. He was highly respected and will be greatly missed in this community, where he has spent his entire life.
He leaves to mourn his loss, a wife, one daughter, a sister, Mrs. Clara Irvin of New Virginia; one brother, C. W. Robinson of Truro and other relatives and a host of friends.
The funeral services were held at the home Friday at 10:30 a.m. conducted by Rev. Carder of New Virginia, assisted by Rev. S. C. Howe, and interment was made in the Hartman cemetery.
