We learn that Daniel Shaver was killed about four miles northwest of St. Charles last week. He was hauling hogs and his wagon upset, throwing him against an embankment, the load of hogs falling on him. His body was badly mutilated. He lived only about two hours. He was 33 years of age and leaves a wife and one child.

Note: Daniel Shaver is buried in the Close cemetery.
